Meet The Artist

I’m Heruy Aregawi, a visual artist living and working in Washington DC. My work responds to the spirit of spaces around me - old and new - and the emotions they stir.

I paint to explore what is close to my heart and what tickles my brain but is hard to explain. Fading moments, weathered textures, and human faces in general. Each piece is part therapy, part storytelling, and part what-if-I-just-added-one-more-layer. My paintings are how I make sense of the world and sometimes simply sit with it.
